Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Chashmish Eyewear Studio collects when you use chashmish.com, why, and how long we keep it. It applies whether you browse or buy.
We may update it; the version on this page is the one in force.
What we collect
- Things you give us: name, email address, mobile number, delivery and billing address, and anything you write to us.
- Your prescription, if you send one — the power values, and any scan or photograph you upload.
- Order history: what you bought, when, and what you paid.
- Technical information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser, pages viewed, and the site that referred you.
We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment providers; your card or UPI credentials go to them, not to us.
Your prescription is health information, and is treated as such
A prescription tells us about your eyes. We use it only to dispense your order and to advise you.
Uploaded prescriptions are stored in a separate private store that is not part of our public image hosting and is not reachable by a public link. They are never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone outside the people dispensing your order.
Session recording and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Tag Manager) to understand which pages people use, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors interact with the site.
To be clear about what that second one means: Clarity reconstructs a playback of your visit — pointer movement, scrolling, clicks and which pages you moved between — so we can see where the site confuses people. It masks the contents of form fields by default, so what you type is not captured. We use these recordings to fix the site, not to identify you.
Both services set cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; the shop will still work, though your cart may not survive a page refresh.
Who else touches your information
Only the companies needed to complete your order, and only with what each one needs:
- Payment providers (Cashfree, Razorpay, PayPal) — to take the payment and issue refunds.
- Our courier partners — your name, address and phone number, to deliver the parcel.
- SMS and email providers — to send the one-time code you sign in with, and order updates.
- Analytics providers as described above.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade mailing lists. We disclose information beyond the above only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Prescriptions: for as long as you are a customer, so repeat orders can be dispensed correctly. Ask and we will delete them.
- One-time codes: minutes. They are purged automatically.
- Analytics: per the retention period set with each provider.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — except records we must keep by law, such as invoices. Write to contact@chashmish.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not hold card numbers, which is the data most worth stealing.
Children
We sell to adults. Where eyewear is bought for a child, we expect a parent or guardian to place the order.
