A short history

Calvin Klein started in 1968. Calvin Klein and his school friend Barry Schwartz put in $10,000 and rented one room in the York Hotel in New York, selling coats. A big order from the store Bonwit Teller got them going, and within a year the label was on the cover of Vogue. The brand is now owned by PVH Corp. Its eyewear, both CK frames and sunglasses, is designed and made by Marchon Eyewear.

What lenses add

The price on CK frames is for the frame only. On the product page you pick single vision, progressive or bifocal, zero-power blue-cut, or frame only. The lens price then shows as its own line, so you see the full cost before you pay. Higher powers and progressives cost more than a basic single-vision lens. Not sure which you need? Book a fitting and our optician will help.

How to choose Calvin Klein eyeglasses

Start with shape, then material, then size. Most Calvin Klein eyeglasses are plain squares and rectangles, which suit round and oval faces. Pick acetate for a bolder look or metal for a lighter one. Then match the three size numbers inside the arm to a pair that already fits you well.

Shape

Calvin Klein glasses frames are known for simple, clean shapes: flat fronts, straight lines and very little decoration. Squares and rectangles make up most of the range. Women's styles add soft cat-eye and oval shapes. Because the fronts are flat, the right bridge width matters more than with rounder frames.

Acetate or metal

Acetate CK frames are thicker, come in black, havana and see-through colours, and hide thicker lenses well. They sit straight on the nose. Metal frames are thinner and lighter, with adjustable nose pads, which many people find better for a long workday. Read more on our materials page.

Reading the size and model code

Inside one arm you will find the model code, a colour code and three numbers. In CK22502 001, CK22502 is the model and 001 is the colour (001 is black, 235 is havana). The three numbers, written like 55□18-140, are the lens width, bridge width and arm length in millimetres. Check them on the glasses you wear now. Stay within 1–2 mm on lens and bridge, and the new pair will fit the same way.

By face shape

Round faces look sharper in square and rectangle Calvin Klein frames. Square faces suit the softer oval and cat-eye styles. Oval faces can wear almost any shape. Our face shape guide has more detail.

Calvin Klein men's eyeglasses and women's frames

Calvin Klein men's eyeglasses are mostly square and rectangle frames in black, havana or grey acetate, with a few slim metal styles. Women's CK frames add cat-eye, oval and see-through colours such as purple and blue. Many styles are unisex, so choose by size and shape, not by the label.

For men

A black or havana square in acetate is the classic choice of Calvin Klein specs for office wear. A lens width of 54–56 mm suits most adult men. If you have a wider face, look at the 56 mm frames and check the arm length too.

For women

Women's Calvin Klein glasses run a little smaller, usually 50–53 mm. Cat-eye shapes lift the face, and see-through acetate looks lighter than solid black. A narrower bridge stops the frame sliding down the nose.

Best Calvin Klein specs for your needs

A quick way to narrow the Calvin Klein specs in the grid above. Each pick is a frame type, with one example from the current range.

  • Everyday office wear: a black square in acetate. For example the CK 23610.
  • Lighter on the face: a slim metal rectangle. For example the CK 22132LBI.
  • Wider faces: a 56 mm square. For example the CK 25629.
  • Women's cat-eye: for example the CK 23544.
  • A softer, see-through look: an oval in clear blue acetate. For example the CK 23651.
  • Smaller faces: a 50 mm havana square. For example the CK 22567.

Lenses for Calvin Klein spectacles

All Calvin Klein spectacles here can take prescription lenses. Choose single vision for one power, progressive or bifocal for distance and reading together, or zero-power blue-cut for screen work. Lenses come from brands including ZEISS, Essilor, Rodenstock and Nova, and are fitted online or in our Ahmedabad studios.

  • High power: pick full-rim acetate CK frames and a thinner high-index lens. The rim hides the lens edge.
  • Progressives: they need enough lens depth from top to bottom, so avoid very narrow frames. An optician should take your fitting height.
  • Screen work: zero-power blue-cut lenses turn any pair of CK glasses into screen glasses.

See every option in our lenses range, or read the prescription guide before you enter your power. Lenses are cut to your power alone, so they cannot be returned on a change of mind. If they arrive wrong or faulty, that is covered in full.
